Curriculum
At Lincoln Elementary School, all learning tasks incorporate collaborative learning, inquiry, problem solving and critical thinking. Our highly experienced teachers supplement OUSD curriculum with innovative learning plans and hands on learning experiences, meeting every student where they are and challenging them to do their best. Lincoln Elementary students are inspired, motivated and well prepared achieve success in middle school, high school, college, career and community.
Social Emotional Learning
At Lincoln, we recognize that students need to feel safe and valued in order to engage in the work we expect from them. To meet our social emotional learning goals, all classrooms use tools from the Caring Schools Community Curriculum.
Special Programs at Lincoln Elementary
- Computer Lab/ Digital Art: All student attend once a week.
- Library: All students visit the Lincoln library once a week.
- Art class: All students attend once a week.
- Music Education with Cantare Con Vivo: All classes receive weekly music instruction. There is also a weekly after school choir for the upper grades.
- Lincoln Garden: Classes tend to the garden and study plants and organisms in alignment with Science instruction.
Outdoor Classroom
Our 5th graders attend Oakland Parks – Sailing into Science.
Our 5th graders also attend Sleepaway Science Camp at Mission Springs.
