Meet our Principal

Mukta Sambrani is a lifelong learner, committed educator and writer. She has been a teacher and an administrator focused on rigor, excellence, and equity.

Before taking on principalship at Lincoln Elementary in the summer of 2019, Ms. Sambrani served as assistant principal at Edna Brewer Middle School in Oakland Unified for six years. Prior to that, Ms. Sambrani was a High School teacher for seven years. She holds a BA, MA and M Phil in English, an MFA in Creative Writing and an M Ed in Educational Leadership.

Ms. Sambrani brings deep coaching experience focused on high-quality instruction, academic differentiation and restorative justice. She works collaboratively with teachers and staff to improve instruction and school culture and climate. She works with families to better understand their needs, partnering with community organizations to bring in resources to support all students and families.

Ms. Sambrani believes that education is the passport to the world.  At Lincoln Elementary, she hopes to create a lasting legacy of  academic excellence and equitable outcomes for all.
